🕘 Early Afternoon – Arrive in Blackpool

Start your day and head to the iconic seaside town of Blackpool. Whether you're traveling by car, train, or coach, make sure to arrive mid-morning to enjoy everything the town has to offer before the lights come on.

What to do:

Take a stroll along Blackpool Beach or the famous Golden Mile.

Visit the Blackpool Tower for stunning views and maybe a spin around the Tower Ballroom.

Pop into Coral Island for traditional arcade fun and maybe a fish & chips lunch.

🎢 Afternoon – Classic Seaside Fun

After lunch, dive into some action with a visit to:

Blackpool Pleasure Beach – home to thrill rides like The Big One and family favourites like Wallace & Gromit’s Thrill-O-Matic.

Or explore SEA LIFE Blackpool and Madame Tussauds for some indoor entertainment if the weathers iffy.

🍽️ Early Evening – Dinner Before the Show

Before the lights switch on, grab dinner at one of the many restaurants or fish & chip shops. 

🌈 Evening – The Blackpool Illuminations!

As dusk falls (typically around 8–9 PM depending on the time of year), it’s time for the main event – the Illuminations!

Spanning over six miles along the Promenade, the Blackpool Illuminations are a breathtaking display of lights, themed installations, animated tableaux, and special features. You can:

Drive through the lights in your own car (the traditional way!).

Hop on a heritage tram, including illuminated trams shaped like ships or trains.

The Firework Display -The event will build-up from 7.30pm with an approximate firing time of 8.30pm for each display.

Or simply walk part of the route to soak in the detail up close.
